THE SCIENCE OF  AUTISM:

It’s vital to understand that there has been an enormous amount of information already uncovered about the science of autism. Armed with this scientific evidence we sought – and found – the treatment solutions for our daughter. These I have tried to boil down the main tenants of the science of autism without going overboard.

OUR STORY

Autism is a complex biological disorder involving the immune, digestive, detox and neurological systems. Research demonstrates that individuals with autism have disrupted metabolic processes that result in byproducts that harm the neurological system, causing the symptoms of autism. When these processes are reversed, autistic individuals begin to recover from their symptoms.
Autism is Curable is a not-for-profit organization that provides funding to families in need to purchase clinician visits, medicines and rent devices that will help reverse the effects of autism.
I have personally witnessed at least a dozen full recoveries from autism as a result of these methods, including my own child. Hundreds of other autistic individuals have either been recovered or are on their way to recovery.

Autism is curable. I have seen it happen many times.  However, when we encounter parents of newly diagnosed autistics (or older untreated autistics for that matter) and tell them how our child has moved from being a mute, self-injurious “card carrying autistic” to college student via biomedical and neurological treatments, most look at us with blank, sometimes frightened stares. They want to know why they haven’t heard of these treatments. They want more proof, more information before they even contemplate taking on this monumental task.
There are more than 1,000 documented recoveries from autism that have been reported to the Autism Research Institute in San Diego, CA.  To my knowledge, the majority were treated by the same methods described in key autism literature, by clinicians specifically trained in the biomedical treatment of autism.

Why is so little known about recovery of autism, both within our own ranks and in the world at large?  My family and I are beyond believing that it’s possible – we’ve seen it happen many times. Now were impassioned to get the word out. We need to get this information to the parents looking for answers, and to the and to the clinicians who advise newly diagnosed autistics.  We need to help get the word out that there is so much that can be done to treat these kids, and that some will be fully recovered.
But we know none of this will be an easy because there is so much skepticism about treating autism, and so few who try and therefore far too few recoveries. As we all know, the prevalent belief about autism is that there is little that can be done about it, that treatment is a swirling mass of confusion and dead end results by a band of crazy parents desperate for answers. This is NOT true!
Will every child recover? No. But the DAN! clinicians I have spoken to believe that 20-30% of autistics that start on a biomedical treatment program before age 2.5 will recover. Nearly all will improve on such a program. The problem is that so many parents don’t know about the power of biomedical intervention and therefore don’t believe that recovery or perhaps even improvement is possible.
We got our miracle – and our daughter’s biggest gains started at age 14! The vast majority of autistic kids of families we point toward DAN! doctors are significantly improved and over half have been recovered. Now we want to help others work toward their own miracle of treating and recovering the autistic individuals in their lives.

The mission  of Autism is Curable is many fold:

  • To get the word out that autism is not only treatable, it is potentially curable
  • To provide a basis for the science of autism
  • To provide funding to families who understand that there are treatment options, wish to avail their child to treatment but can’t otherwise afford it
  • To provide clear, overwhelming evidence that autism is curable, so we can get kids into treatment faster.

This website is organized to provide actionable information:

Our story: We’ve been dealing with autism for more than 15 years. We’ve been extremely fortunate to have stumbled upon some of the therapies that are now at the forefront of treating and curing autism. (We’ve stumbled down some dead end alleys, too!) We’ve met some real heroes along the way – people who genuinely care about healing these kids and who would walk through fire to see them helped. And, while we didn’t realize it at the time, we were supported and guided by individuals now considered the “rock stars” of the world of autism. If not for the help of these extraordinary people, our lives would be much different from the way they are today. Our journey is documented in the section “Our Story”.

LINKS

As I reacquaint myself with the world of autistic literature, I am amazed how much of the same information is repeated over and over and over again.  Check out the information in these links, particularly the stories about recovery from autism and you’ll see the same themes regarding autistic decline and recovery repeat over and over.

DONATE TO AUTISM IS CURABLE

AIC is a not-for-profit organization. Any donations to AIC will be distributed to families requesting funding on a needs basis. If you know of someone who would like to make a difference in the lives of autistic individuals, please send them our way.
